A cause of death for Heath Ledger has been reported has been established by the medical examiner in NYC. Heath's death has been ruled as an accidental overdose.

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine. We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications."

His parents have also released a statement.

We remain humble as parents and a family, among millions of people worldwide who may have suffered the tragic loss of a child. Few can understand the hollow, wrenching, and enduring agony parents silently suffer when a child predeceases them. Today's results put an end to speculation, but our son's beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts.

While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath's accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage.

Our family enjoyed an extremely happy two week visit with Heath just prior to the New Year. Those recent precious days will stay with us forever. We as a family feel privileged to have some of his amazing magic moments captured in film. To most of the world Heath was an actor of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him personally, Heath was a consummate artist whose passions also included photography, music, chess and directing. We knew Heath as a loving father, as our devoted son, and as a loyal and generous brother and friend.

We treasure our beautiful granddaughter Matilda (to our dear Michelle) as well as an unbelievably wonderful network of close friends, forever, around the world. Families rarely experience the uplifting, warm and massive outpouring of grief and support as have we, from every corner of the planet. This has deeply and profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful.

At this moment we respectfully request the worldwide media allow us time to grieve privately, without the intrusions associated with press and photography.

Michelle Williams, the mother of Heath Ledger's daughter, made a statement to the press in regards to his death.

"Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father," Williams said in her statement. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him."

It's sad, that people are now taking advantage of his death and selling tapes and making up stories to sell newspapers or for higher ratings. Hopefully it'll die down enough so that Matilda can have as much of a normal life as she can.

Fans have been mourning Heath Ledger's death and have stopped by his Brooklyn apartment to pay their respects and show their support by leaving flowers and candles outside his building.

It has been rumored that Heath was dating Mary Kate Olsen, which is why his masseuse called her before calling 911. He was also rumored to be dating model Gemma Ward before his death earlier this week.

A memorial for Heath will take place in Los Angeles before his burial in Perth, Australia. A memorial for him will also take place at his old school, Guildford Grammar.

An autopsy was conducted for Heath Ledger, but was inconclusive. Heath died yesterday mysteriously. The actor was found with a bottle of pills next to his body. A cause of death determination will take up to two weeks.

Meanwhile, his family has issued a statement in regards to his death:

"We, Heath's family, confirm, the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda. He was found peacefully asleep in his New York apartment by his housekeeper at 3:30 p.m. U.S. time.

We would like to thank our friends and everyone around the world for their well wishes and kind thoughts at this time. Heath has touched so many people on so many different levels during his short life but few had the pleasure of truly knowing him.

He was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving and selfless individual who was extremely inspirational to many. Please now respect our families need to grieve and come to terms with our loss privately."

Oh My God

Heath Ledger was found dead earlier today in his apartment. According to reports his masseuse and housekeeper found him unconscious in his apartment in Soho, NYC. He was laying on his bed and they tried to wake him up but were unsuccessful. An ambulance arrived and tried to revive him but they were also unsuccessful. He was 28 years old and has a 2 year old daughter named Matilda with his ex, Michelle Williams.

I honestly don't know what to say. My brother told me about this in the supermarket and I didn't believe him, but it's true. Wow.

Upgrade X2!

Lindsay Lohan and Heath Ledger are reportedly seeing each other. The "couple" met soon after LiLo broke up with Riley Giles. Heath has been single since breaking it off with his baby mama, Michelle Williams.

The two are said to have hooked up, but that the relationship was purely physical, as the two met up for casual sex during Lindsay's stay in New York for Thanksgiving.

Upgrades all around! Sure, Michelle Williams is cute and looks like a nice person, but she's no Lindsay Lohan. And even though Heath is headed downhill in the hots department, he's still a hell of an upgrade from Riley Giles.

Here's Heath on the cover of Empire magazine "debuting" his look as 'The Joker' in the new Batman movie. Downgrade! I thought he was going to be hot! I mean, I guessed there would be some downgrade when it came to his hotness, but that far down? Ugh.

It's ok, all I have to do is close my eyes and picture him serenading Julia Stiles in Ten Things I Hate About You and it makes it all better.

Here are the posters for I'm Not There, which stars Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger, Richard Gere and Christian Bale all as Bob Dylan. Cate's poster is my favorite. I really can't wait to see this movie. Oscars for all, I predict!

This movie looks interesting. I think it's different, and I like different. But hopefully it's entertaining...

Upgrade!

Heath Ledger is said to be already moved on from Michelle Williams. He's been seen spotted with ex-supermodel, Helena Christensen. You know, the chick from the Chris Isaac video. Hot!

Vincent Gallo, Heath Ledger and Michael Stipe attend the Marc Jacobs show. Actually that headline can be used so many different ways I'm not even going to bother naming them all.

Heath hasn't really looked all that great recently but he looks good here. Maybe it was Michelle dragging him down to her mushy level.

U.S. Weekly is reporting that Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams are no longer a couple. The couple, who have a daughter together, split a couple of weeks ago.

Again, boring couple. Heath used to be hot and I've watched 10 Things I Hate About You a zillion times, but he's losing it in the looks department, he should've held on to that, Mushy got hotter after the baby. Does this mean I won't see them walking around Brooklyn with that stroller anymore? Damnit

The new movie, I'm Not There, starring Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Ben Whishaw and Marcus Franklin all as Bob Dylan, is already getting Oscar buzz. Yeah, no shit. First of all Cate Blanchett is in it. Second of all, it's about Bob Dylan. Third of all, there's seven people playing him in different aspects of his life. Oscars like confusing bullshit like that. Anyways, I can't wait to see it, not because I'm a Dylan fan but for three very valid reasons: Bale, Ledger and Gere. Whoot whoot.
